Hohenheim at the Agrinatura General Assembly 2024 and 3rd Conference

Agrinatura is the European Alliance on Agricultural Knowledge for Development, an entity established jointly by European Research and Education organisations. This network of European universities and research organizations is dedicated to supporting agricultural research and educational programmes that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The University of Hohenheim (UHOH) is a member of Agrinatura, with the Research Center for Global Food Security and Ecosystems serving as the main contact point between UHOH and the network. 

From May 14-15th 2024, the Hohenheim Research Center for Global Food Security and Ecosystems participated in the Agrinatura General Assembly and 3rd Conference. The theme for the General Assembly was “Connecting Universities, Research Institutions, and Partners for Agri-Food Systems Transformation.” The first day's activities consisted of a business meeting and an expert panel discussion on the role of universities and research institutes in forming new partnerships and building resilient agri-food systems in Africa through capacity building.

On the second day, May 15th, the 3rd Agrinatura Conference took place: “Bringing Evidence-Based Knowledge into Decision-Making for Sustainable, Healthy, and Inclusive Global Food Systems.” The conference involved discussions on the impact of Agrinatura projects on decision-making for sustainable food systems, advancing research and innovation for food systems in Europe and Africa, collaborative efforts for impactful research, and the opportunities and challenges of using evidence-based knowledge within the Agrinatura network.

The two-day event brought together members and partners from Europe and Africa for networking and enriching discussions on agri-food systems transformation and sustainable development.
