Networks
GFE is proud to be a member of the following international research networks:
AGRINATURA is a network of 36 European universities and research organizations with a common interest in supporting agricultural development in a sustainable manner in order to improve people’s lives.
AGRINATURA brings its collective resources to work in partnership with international collaborators. It seeks to nurture scientific excellence through joint research, education and training programmes and advocates for greater support for agricultural research that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. more

The GFE is active member in a Working Group of the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS). ELLS is a network of leading universities cooperating in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Life Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Food Sciences, and Environmental Sciences.
The Research Support Offices (RSO) of the ELLS members provide support related to research and research funding, e.g. information and consulting on national and European funding opportunities.
The RSO
- aims at developing cooperation between ELLS RSOs for mutual benefit, thereby strengthening the ELLS network and the capacity and quality of research support
- wants to serve as a platform both for exchange of experience between the RSOs and to facilitate partnerships for projects between the ELLS universities´ researchers

ATSAF (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Tropische und Subtropische Agrarforschung), the Council for Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural Research, is a scientific society of internationally-oriented agricultural and ecosystem researchers in Germany.
ATSAF unites scientists and development experts from the fields of agricultural sciences, ecology, veterinary medicine, nutrition, forestry, fisheries, and other, even basic research oriented disciplines with a focus on development-oriented research for the tropics and subtropics and transition countries. more
GFE is working with several universities, nonprofit organizations, and private sector actors that share the Research Center’s commitment. We have set up an on-going collaboration with the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR) of the University of Coventry, which is driving innovative, transdisciplinary research on the understanding and development of resilient food and water systems internationally.
Within the University of Hohenheim we actively collaborate with:
- The three faculties Agricultural Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Business, Economics and Social Sciences
- The other Research Centers (see below)
Bioeconomy is the guiding theme of the University of Hohenheim. It links the Faculties of Agricultural Sciences; Natural Sciences; and Business, Economics and Social Sciences and tackles a central concern of politics and society. The major objective of Bioeconomy is to promote the change towards an economy based on renewable energy and renewable resources. It thereby takes into account environmental, economic, and social interests.
The task of the Research Center for Bioeconomy is to implement this interdisciplinary topic in a targeted and sustainable way at the University. more
The Hohenheim Research Center for Health Sciences provides a dynamic platform for researchers, lecturers, young scientists, and students dedicated to life science and societal health topics.
It promotes high-level research across several disciplines by joining expertise, building bridges between bench scientists, business and public stakeholders, strengthening national and international research networks, and obtaining funds for integrated research projects. more
Since the work of the GFE is strongly related to research in Africa, the Research Network Africa plays an important role for building on experiences and partner networks, and for facilitating knowledge exchange between research initiatives from the University of Hohenheim.
