David Puerta

David joined the Hohenheim Research Center for Global Food Security and Ecosystems (GFE) in 2022. He completed a MSc degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim. Regarding his professional experience, David worked at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), a CGIAR center with headquarters in Cali, Colombia. He guided the implementation and indexation of a scientific journal, and conducted value chain socio-economic analyses. David also worked as an economic expert for Agrinatura affiliated to the University of Greenwich in the UK. Under the Value Chain Analysis for Development (VCA4D) framework, he analysed the value chain of cacao from Tumaco and Putumayo in Colombia.

At the GFE working team, David supports research consortia for the development of proposals and management of current projects.
