FNSSA (Food and Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture) Stakeholder Engagement Week from 31 May to 4 June 2021  [20.05.21]

One virtual week of discussion, debate, and learning on Africa – Europe research and innovation partnership in the field of FNSSA.

 Kicking off the week is a high-level plenary opened by Mahama Ouedraogo of the African Union Commission and Cristina Russo of the European Commission, followed by speakers giving insights into AU-EU research and innovation cooperation in FNSSA. Partners who represent different stakeholder to participate in a panel discussion on the added value of the FNSSA Partnership, among them is i.a Elizabeth Nsimadala of the Eastern Africa Farmers Federation. Closing the week, a panel of high-level experts will debate what’s next in for the future of AU-EU cooperation, with a panel discussion featuring input from speakers such as:


Victor Ajieroh of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Shadrack Moephuli of the Agricultural Research Council, South Africa
Anneline Morgan, of the SADC Secretariat
Debisi Araba, as AGRA
Beate Huber, of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, Switzerland. 
H.E. Josefa Sacko, Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, African Union Commission

A total of 15 sessions on different inspiring topics will be held throughout the week. Learn from the diversity of projects (e.g. the Soils4Africa project), regions (Engagement of central and eastern EU countries), approaches (How research can better support innovation for the transformation of the agri-food systems in Europe and in Africa), strategies (Fostering multi-stakeholder partnership engagement for impact) and experiences (lessons from studying& monitoring the Partnership).
